Position Overview

K-Electric is hiring a Manager – SharePoint Portal Development for its Karachi office. This is a senior technical leadership role that owns the company’s entire SharePoint portfolio, including the Vendor Master Portal, Fleet Management and Awaz Portal. These platforms sit at the centre of customer engagement and internal business operations.

The role spans three areas: building scalable solutions on SharePoint and the Power Platform, leading the migration from on-premises SharePoint to SharePoint Online, and running day-to-day operations with responsibility for uptime, security and patch management. It also carries people management responsibility for a technical team.

Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology
• Minimum 8 years of total experience in IT
• At least 6 years of hands-on SharePoint development experience
• At least 4 years in a technical lead capacity working with Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint Online
• At least 4 years of SharePoint operations experience
• At least one Microsoft certification in Development or SharePoint
• Working knowledge of SPFx, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Azure integration and ERP connectivity

Key Responsibilities

Development and Solution Enablement

• Architect and deploy scalable, integrated solutions across the SharePoint portfolio using SPFx, Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.
• Create and manage shared, reusable code libraries and components to speed up delivery and maintain consistency.
• Build and enforce CI/CD pipelines, Application Lifecycle Management discipline and secure coding standards across all custom development.
• Design integration patterns connecting SharePoint and Power Platform solutions with Azure services and core ERP systems.

Modernization

• Lead the end-to-end migration of legacy content and custom code to SharePoint Online.
• Redesign information architecture, taxonomy and site structures to take advantage of modern features.
• Configure and enforce DLP policies and Microsoft 365 security best practices across the portfolio.
• Evaluate and introduce new Microsoft technologies to advance automation and digital transformation.

Operations and Administration

• Monitor system activity, resource utilisation and performance metrics to maintain continuous platform uptime.
• Execute scheduled patch management, vulnerability scans and security configuration checks.
• Manage user access, permissions, site collections and environment lifecycles across Dev, Test and Production.
• Validate backup and restore procedures and run disaster recovery drills.
• Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex, production-critical issues.

Security, Collaboration and Team Leadership

• Ensure secure coding practices are followed across development teams and work with audit, risk and compliance teams to close findings.
• Coordinate with business units, data scientists and IT to align platform initiatives with organisational objectives.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate a technical team, set performance goals and drive recruitment and retention.
