Salary Slip Calculator Pakistan

Your offer letter says one number. Your bank account shows another. This salary slip calculator shows you exactly where the difference goes — and how a Pakistani salary is split into basic pay, allowances and deductions.

Enter your gross monthly salary to see what actually reaches your bank account.

EOBI is 1% of minimum wage and changes when the wage is revised. Check your last slip for the exact figure.

Take-home salary Rs 75,965

Estimates only. Income tax is not included — deductions vary by employer, province and tax status.

What Is a Salary Slip?

A salary slip, or pay slip, is the monthly statement your employer gives you showing what you earned, what was deducted, and what was actually paid into your account. It lists your basic pay, every allowance, every deduction, and the final net figure.

It matters beyond curiosity. Banks ask for two or three recent slips before approving a loan or credit card, embassies ask for them with visa applications, and a new employer will ask for one to verify your last salary during negotiation. Keeping them saved is worth the small effort.

One thing worth knowing: only Sindh legally requires employers to issue pay slips. The Sindh Payment of Wages Act makes it mandatory. Elsewhere in Pakistan there is no such requirement, though most organised employers issue them anyway — and you are entitled to ask for one.

How to Use This Salary Slip Calculator

Take-home salary mode. Enter your gross monthly salary — the full figure from your offer letter. Adjust the EOBI amount to match your slip, set your provident fund rate, and set what share of your gross is basic pay. The calculator subtracts the deductions and shows what should land in your account.

Salary breakdown mode. Enter your gross salary, then type in the percentages your own company uses for basic pay, house rent, medical and conveyance. Amounts calculate as you type. If your percentages don't total 100%, a warning appears — that usually means a component is missing from your list.

What Goes Into a Pakistani Salary Slip

Earnings

ComponentTypical rangeNotes
Basic salary50–66% of grossThe base for provident fund, gratuity and overtime
House rent allowance40–45% of basicFully taxable
Medical allowanceAbout 10% of basicExempt from income tax up to 10% of basic
Conveyance allowanceFixed monthly amountFully taxable
Utilities allowanceVariesFully taxable

The single most important line here is basic salary. It is not just one component among many — your provident fund, gratuity and overtime are all calculated from it. Two offers with the same gross figure can be worth very different amounts if one sets basic at 40% and the other at 60%.

Deductions

DeductionAmountNotes

EOBI1% of minimum wageEmployee share; the employer pays 5% separately
Provident fund8.33% or 10% of basicSavings, not a tax — you get it back

Three Things Most People Get Wrong

Provident fund is not money lost. It is forced savings. Your employer usually matches your contribution, and you receive the full amount when you leave or retire. A slip showing a large PF deduction is often a better package, not a worse one.

Medical allowance is tax-free up to 10% of basic. This is one of the few genuine exemptions available to salaried people in Pakistan. If your employer structures medical allowance at 10% of basic rather than folding it into a general allowance, you keep more.

Gross is not what you negotiate on. When comparing two job offers, compare take-home, not the headline figure. A role paying Rs 100,000 gross with a heavy provident fund and one paying Rs 95,000 with none can leave you with a similar amount in hand — but very different savings after three years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my salary less than what was offered?
The offer is gross. Income tax, EOBI, provident fund and social security come out before payment. On a typical package the gap runs between 5% and 20% depending on your income level.

Does this calculator include income tax?
No. Tax depends on your annual income, filer status and other income sources, and FBR slabs change every year with the budget. This tool covers the deductions your employer applies regardless of your tax position.

My employer does not give a salary slip. What can I do?
Ask HR in writing. In Sindh it is a legal requirement. Elsewhere it is not, but almost every organised employer will issue one on request — and you will need it eventually for a loan or visa.

What is PIFRA?
PIFRA is the government system that issues salary slips to federal and provincial employees. If you work in a government department, your slip comes through PIFRA rather than from your office directly.
