Almost every job advert in Pakistan seems to ask for two years of experience. Everyone hits the same loop: you cannot get experience without a job, and you cannot get a job without experience.
Most people break it the same way: through a few entry points that do hire freshers, and by making their college or university years count on a CV. Here is where those entry points are and what they pay.
The honest picture first
The latest Labour Force Survey (2024-25) from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics puts overall unemployment at 6.9%. For people aged 15 to 24 it is 12.6%, almost double.
| Group | Unemployment rate |
|---|---|
| Overall | 6.9% |
| Age 15 to 24 | 12.6% |
| Age 15 to 29 | 11.5% |
| Women | 9.7% |
| Men | 5.9% |
| Urban areas | 8.0% |
| Rural areas | 6.3% |
Being young and without experience is the hardest part of the market, but also the most crowded. You are not behind. The people hired first are usually the ones who apply in the right places, not the ones with the best marks.
Where freshers actually get hired
A handful of sectors hire people with no experience every month, because they train new staff themselves or because they care more about skills than years.
| Entry point | Usual requirement | Why it takes freshers |
|---|---|---|
| Call centres and customer support | Intermediate, clear spoken English or a regional language | High hiring volume and in-house training |
| Sales and retail | Matric or Intermediate | Pay is linked to results, so employers take a chance on new people |
| Internships and trainee programmes | Fresh graduate | Designed for people with no experience |
| Company training academies | Good communication | Free training that leads into hiring |
| Freelancing and online work | One sellable skill and a portfolio | Clients judge your work, not your years |
| Government jobs | Qualification plus a written test | Many entry posts are filled on test merit |
Call centres are the biggest of these. Some run their own academies for beginners: ibex’s Learning Academy (ILA) is a free customer service course ending in a certification, and ibex says more than 7,200 people have completed it since 2023.
Regional languages count too. Sindhi, Pashto and Punjabi speakers are regularly hired for domestic support desks where English is secondary. If you speak one fluently, put it at the top of your CV.
Build experience before your first job
Experience does not have to mean a salaried job. Recruiters hiring freshers are looking for proof that you can turn up, learn and finish things. These all count:
| What you did | How to write it on your CV |
|---|---|
| A final-year or semester project | Name the project, the tools used and what you delivered |
| A short internship, even six weeks | Company, dates and two or three tasks you handled |
| Volunteer or NGO work | The organisation and what you were responsible for |
| Small paid gigs or freelance work | The type of work and one result, such as number of clients |
| Helping in a family business | Your role, such as handling orders, accounts or customers |
| A completed online course | Course name, provider and the year finished |
Free training is easy to find. DigiSkills, a government-backed programme, offers free online courses in freelancing, digital marketing, graphic design and similar skills, and its current phase covers 25 courses. A completed course with a small portfolio piece is worth more on a fresher CV than a list of hobbies.
Be careful with unpaid work. A short unpaid internship can be worth it for the name on your CV. Working for months without pay usually is not.
Make your CV work without experience
Keep a fresher CV to one page: education and skills first, then projects, internships and volunteer work. Skip the “career objective” paragraph; recruiters do.
Our free CV maker builds a clean one-page CV in a few minutes, and the guide to writing a CV in Pakistan covers what employers here look for.
What salary to expect
Before comparing offers, know the legal floor. These are the minimum wages for unskilled workers for 2025-26, based on 26 working days a month:
| Province or territory | Minimum wage per month |
|---|---|
| Punjab | Rs 40,000 |
| Sindh | Rs 40,000 |
| Khyber Pakhtunkhwa | Rs 40,000 |
| Islamabad | Rs 37,000 |
| Balochistan | Rs 37,000 |
For comparison, the Labour Force Survey puts the average monthly pay of a salaried employee at about Rs 39,000. So a full-time job in Punjab, Sindh or KP offering Rs 30,000 is below the legal minimum.
The opposite warning applies too. “Urgent jobs, Rs 50,000, no experience” adverts do exist, mostly on international call centre night shifts, but a high salary with no requirements and no named company is also the most common scam bait. No real employer asks you to pay to be hired, or interviews you only on WhatsApp.
For women looking for a first job
Unemployment is higher for women (9.7% against 5.9% for men). The same entry points work, with a few practical checks:
- Ask whether the company provides pick and drop, especially for evening or night shifts
- Look at remote customer support and online work, which many companies now offer
- Teaching, admin and front desk roles regularly hire fresh graduates
- Meet the employer at an office, never at a private address, and never pay any fee
A simple 30-day plan
| Week | What to do |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | Build a one-page CV and a free candidate profile |
| Week 2 | Apply to 10 to 15 fresher roles in call centres, sales and internships, and start one free course |
| Week 3 | Follow up on applications, practise interview answers out loud, and look for volunteer work |
| Week 4 | Review what got replies, and widen your search to other shifts, areas or cities |
Browse current openings in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. Every listing on HireMe.pk links to the employer’s own application page.
You can also create a free profile and let employers find you. Companies search the candidate database directly, and a complete profile is often how people without experience get their first call.
FAQs
How do I get a job if I have no experience?
Start with sectors that train new staff, such as call centres, sales and retail, plus internships. Put projects, volunteer work and courses on a one-page CV and apply widely.
How can I earn Rs 30,000 per month?
Any full-time job in Punjab, Sindh or KP should already pay at least Rs 40,000, the minimum wage for 2025-26. If you want part-time income instead, tutoring, sales roles and freelance work are the usual options for students.
Is Rozee.pk real or fake?
Rozee.pk is a real, long-running job site. Like every job site, it can still carry individual fake adverts, so check the company before you apply and never pay any fee.
Which job is most in demand in Pakistan?
By numbers employed, agriculture is still the largest sector, followed by services and trade. For freshers in cities, customer support, sales and IT-related roles are where entry-level openings appear most often.
Can I get a job online without experience?
Yes, but start with a skill. Finish a free course, build two or three samples, then apply for remote support roles or small freelance projects.
Are there jobs for women without experience?
Yes. Call centres, teaching, admin, front desk and remote support roles regularly hire women starting out.
